Since then, he has been actively involved in various ministries and in different roles. In April 2022, Bryan married Sarah Butler, who shares his heart for missions and ministry. With complementary gifts and personalities, they seek to serve God as a team. Outside of ministry, Bryan enjoys hiking, exploring history, playing strategy games, and embracing all things nerd-related. His favorite psalm is Psalm 27.
Daichi Gomei
Daichi Gomei serves as the Japanese Mission Director for MTN, where he leads and coordinates all mission efforts across Japan. His heart is to help people understand the hope found in the gospel, equipping disciples to thrive, endure, and multiply. With a focus on teaching, translating, counseling, and tutoring, Daichi especially enjoys helping men who feel inferior find their identity and confidence in Christ. (Click to see more...)
Daichi’s spiritual heritage is rooted in a legacy of faith and perseverance. A quarter Chinese, his grandmother—who evangelized under persecution—was baptized the year he was born. Her devotion inspired Daichi’s mother, who came to faith when Daichi was just seven. He grew up surrounded by prayer, with the lasting image of his grandmother always on her knees. Years later, while serving aboard the USS Philadelphia submarine, Daichi began secretly reading the New Testament. One night, he was awakened by a deep, tangible sense of the Holy Spirit’s presence. He later learned that his mother had been praying for him around that same time.
The call to Japan began when a Korean pastor spoke a simple but persistent word over him: “You are going to go to Japan.” That moment planted a seed in Daichi’s heart—and God, in His timing, caused it to grow. Over the years, that seed matured into a clear and lasting conviction to minister to the Japanese people.
Though he still enjoys board games with friends from time to time, Daichi has intentionally set aside most recreational pursuits to fully devote himself to the mission of God. His life is anchored in the words of Jesus: “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33) and “If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Luke 9:23).

Raised in a Korean Presbyterian church, Joshua’s early faith was shaped by a strong Christian community. During college, he served as a student leader in KCCC (Korean Campus Crusade for Christ), deepening his passion for the gospel. After graduation, he spent six years as a missionary in East Asia (China), laboring in cross-cultural ministry until his return to the U.S. in 2019.
Though he had followed Christ from a young age, a major turning point came after returning from the mission field. As Joshua reflected on his years in China and encountered believers from a variety of denominational backgrounds, he began to realize how much he still lacked in understanding and experience. He saw clearly that, despite many years as a Christian, he had never been baptized in response to personal repentance and faith—something he saw plainly affirmed in Scripture.
In August 2021, during a trip to Japan, Joshua was baptized. It was there, in that moment of surrender, that he encountered the tangible presence of God in a way that deeply transformed his life. Since then, he has walked in renewed simplicity of faith, no longer striving, but following Jesus as a committed disciple.
Joshua currently lives and ministers in New Jersey. He is supported and strengthened daily by his wife, Emily Lee, and their two daughters, Ariella and Eliana. Outside of ministry and work, Joshua enjoys games, memes, and digging into conspiracy theories—always with a strong cup of coffee in hand.
His life has been continually guided by the words of Joshua 1:9:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
